1st Christmas-Sophia

I attempted to use a lot of the same papers that I used with Olivia's 1st Christmas layout, but taking a different approach to it.  I have tried hard to make the girls' 1st albums similar, but not identical.  I wasn't sure where this one was going until the very end, but I'm happy with it.

1st Christmas-Olivia

After a very long break from Scrapbooking (6 months!!), I'm back!!  I hand sketched and cut the tree and presents.  I used a circle punch for the ornaments, ribbon for the garland, and cut flowers for the bows.  I really didn't like the look of keeping the pictures straight, so I tilted them for flair.  Because this layout is for an 8x8 album, I try to keep them simple.

New toys to try out!!

For Christmas this year, I got several lovely new toys to try out!  My favorite is the Sizzix Texture Boutique which lets me emboss!  I was so excited to try it out, so I made a few cards.

Little Beauties!

I adore this Let's Scrap sketch!!  I had to use it for the twins' 1st year album, it works so well for an 8x8 layout.  I did two similar, but different layouts because my girls' pictures are pretty similar.  I really like this striped paper, but I had to feminize it a bit.  I used the left side of the sketch.  Pretty happy with how it came out.

Here is the Let's Scrap sketch:

Sketchless in the South

It is getting very difficult to make these 8x8 layout pages unique when I have so many with the same size pictures to use and a very tiny space to work with!  After failing to find a sketch that inspired me, I decided to "wing it" on this one.  I'm pretty happy with how it came out, but this simple style is still a difficult one for me to leave alone!  I just want to add more and more!

Olivia - 5 months

I even dusted off my Cricut machine and Xyron sticker maker for the title!  I'd forgotten how quick and easy they are to use!  Still not sure this feels "done," but I'm leaving it alone because every time I tried to add something, it just didn't look right.

1st REAL bike

Took a little break from my twins' first year albums to do a little catch-up for my oldest son's album.  These pictures are from 2009...yeah I'm a little behind.  The darker circles are stitched to copy this awesome pattern paper I found in my stash.  Love how it came out, even though it's a bit different style than I usually do.

I used this awesome sketch as inspiration from Let's Scrap!

Painting...a new art form for me!

I've been playing around with painting and giving acrylics a try.  I really enjoy it, but it's a lot of work!  Very time consuming, but a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

For my 5 year old's birthday (he's obsessed with dinosaurs)

This is something I've been thinking about trying for a while and adore how it came out!
