Little Beauties!

I adore this Let's Scrap sketch!!  I had to use it for the twins' 1st year album, it works so well for an 8x8 layout.  I did two similar, but different layouts because my girls' pictures are pretty similar.  I really like this striped paper, but I had to feminize it a bit.  I used the left side of the sketch.  Pretty happy with how it came out.

Here is the Let's Scrap sketch:

Sketchless in the South

It is getting very difficult to make these 8x8 layout pages unique when I have so many with the same size pictures to use and a very tiny space to work with!  After failing to find a sketch that inspired me, I decided to "wing it" on this one.  I'm pretty happy with how it came out, but this simple style is still a difficult one for me to leave alone!  I just want to add more and more!

Olivia - 5 months

I even dusted off my Cricut machine and Xyron sticker maker for the title!  I'd forgotten how quick and easy they are to use!  Still not sure this feels "done," but I'm leaving it alone because every time I tried to add something, it just didn't look right.

1st REAL bike

Took a little break from my twins' first year albums to do a little catch-up for my oldest son's album.  These pictures are from 2009...yeah I'm a little behind.  The darker circles are stitched to copy this awesome pattern paper I found in my stash.  Love how it came out, even though it's a bit different style than I usually do.

I used this awesome sketch as inspiration from Let's Scrap!

Painting...a new art form for me!

I've been playing around with painting and giving acrylics a try.  I really enjoy it, but it's a lot of work!  Very time consuming, but a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

For my 5 year old's birthday (he's obsessed with dinosaurs)

This is something I've been thinking about trying for a while and adore how it came out!

Twins' Birthday Cards!!

My sweet girls have their 2nd birthday party this weekend, so I made them similar, but different birthday cards with this week's Feeling Sketchy card sketch.

I found a cute layout on Pinterest to try out, so I did a varied version for each girl's album:

Sophia's 1st Professional Pictures

I rarely do a "copy" layout where I use the same sketch twice to create a semi-identical layout, even for the twins' 1st year albums.  If I LOVE a sketch, I may use it in both, but I usually change up quite a bit to make them unique.  This time was a bit different, because of how difficult the color coordinating was with these photos, I used the same papers as in Olivia's and the same sketch too.

I'm pretty happy with how both of these layouts came out.

The original sketch from Let's Scrap is in the previous post.

Olivia's 1st Professional Photos-4 months

I was looking for a special way to showcase the professional photos we had taken of the girls at 4 months old and this sketch from Let's Scrap was just perfect!  I'm using it for Olivia's, but may also do Sophia's the same way.  I haven't decided yet.  Here is the sketch I used:

And this is my take on it.  I really love how this came out!  It was a big struggle to find papers that made these two very different sets of photos work together, but I just adore this!  I decided to make them feel cohesive by pulling the orange from the 2nd dress into the banner and the purple from the tutu into the flower and flags.

New Twin Layouts!

I just realized I haven't posted the layouts I finished for the twins' 1st year albums!  These were done freehand, without a sketch, and I really enjoyed testing out my own creativity!

So here's catching up!

Lovable You

Here is my latest layout for Sophia's baby album, her 1 month old pictures.  Her sweet brother loved kissing on his babies and I happened to catch one such kiss on camera.  I'm not thrilled that my vellum quote didn't come out of the sticker machine like I expected, but I still love the layout.

This sketch is awesome because so many elements of it are easily adaptable to different types of layouts.  I really loved the flags on this one and had to incorporate that in mine.  My layout is only an 8x8, so I was limited on what elements I could include.  I used the left side of the sketch.

Cards Inspired by Pinterest

I find Pinterest to be an excellent source for inspiration when it comes to paper crafting.  I found a number of interesting cards that I used as inspiration for my own.  Here are a few that I put together for fun!

Baby Shower Card

I made this baby shower card for a friend and I love it!  The heart looks like a quilt!  Seems perfect for a baby.

It's inspired by this lovely sketch by Let's Scrap:

A Blessing from Above

This layout is in Sophia's 1st year album and features her birth picture, one of me holding her shortly after and another of her and her twin.  I really love the color combination with these photos, I feel like it really makes them pop.

I used this Let's Scrap sketch as an inspiration.  I really liked the blocks behind the photos and chose to do that on a smaller scale as mats behind my photos.  Because my layout is an 8x8, I had a little less room to work with, but I flipped the sketch pages to work with my photos.

I used a similar format for Olivia's album with the similar pictures, but chose to skip the blocks and go with something girly and elegant for the mats instead.

Father's Day Card

I made this card for my hubby for Father's Day.  Love this sketch from Feeling Sketchy.

Mommy Hugs & Daddy Kisses

I just had to use this gorgeous sketch from Let's Scrap in the twins' baby albums!  I love the gentle elegance of it.  Here's the original sketch:

And here is my take on it, recording the the first day (and the professional photos taken) as well as pictures of how tiny my sweet Olivia was that first week!  Olivia's album is very elegantly arranged, so this sketch matched perfectly.

My flash takes away a little from it, but I really love the result.  Because this album is an 8x8, it's a lot harder to fit in extra elements, so I try to put all of the focus on the photos.
